(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – The Thomas More College men's and women's bowling teams competed at the Buckeye Classic this past weekend hosted by The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
The tournament was a nine-four game blocks baker games. The men's team finished 11th with 5,711 points. The Saints had 1,388 points in game one, 1,393 points in game two, 1,444 points in game three and 1,486 points in game four. Competing for Thomas More at the Buckeye Classic was senior Jimmy Kelley (California, Ky./Bishop Brossart) and first-years Austin Crone (Florence, Ky./Simon Kenton), Jake Farley (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands), Jonathan Frommeyer (Hebron, Ky./Conner) and Jacob Lawson (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton).
The women's team placed 15th with 3,512 points. Thomas More had 835 points in game one, 915 points in game two, 875 points in game three and 887 points in game four. Compete for the Saints was sophomore Kendra Berry (Ashland, Ky./Boyd County) and Katie Laine (Delhi, Ohio/Oak Hills) and first-years Mandi Chafins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) and Erica Travis (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton).
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 21 and 22) when it competes at the Muskie Mash in Zanesville, Ohio on Saturday and the Mountaineer Classic on Sunday in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
