Cook, Hlebiczki and Campbell Compete at Great Lakes Final Qualifier

(DELAWARE, Ohio) – Three Thomas More College track & field student-athletes competed today (Thursday, May 18, 2017) at the unscored Great Lakes NCAA Final Qualifier at the George Gauthier Track on the Ohio Wesleyan University campus in Delaware, Ohio.

In the women's 400-meter dash, junior Christina Cooke (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) finished first with a time of 56.75-seconds and senior Katrina Hlebiczki (Fort Thomas, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) finished fifth with a time of 1:01.69.

Helebiczki also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.93-seconds.  Sophomore Michael Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:28.10.

Cook is currently ranked No. 25 in Division III in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.58-seconds.  The Top-22 declared student-athletes on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. will qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship.  The championship is being hosted by the University of Mount Union May 25-27 at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
