(BETHANY, WV.) – The Thomas More College men's basketball team fell to PAC rival, Bethany, 65-72. With the loss, the Saints fall to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the PAC. With the win, the Bison improve to 2-5 overall and 2-0 in the PAC.
In the first half, Bethany got out to an early 9-4 lead. Ryne Callahan got the Saints back hitting a three-pointer to get the Saints within two, from an assist from Damion King. Brandon Horne hit another three for the Saints with 12 minutes to go in the half, to shorten the Bison lead to three. The Saints got down by as much as 11 in the first half, but a Callahan three and free throws good by Michael Griffin brought the Saints within six. Going into half-time, the Bison led 37-26.
In the second half, Ralph Stone and King hit back-to-back layups to start out the half. Simon Clifford grabbed an offensive rebound and a putback from a Stone missed layup to put the Saints within eight. Closing out the game, Stone hit a three-pointer with an assist from Horne to get the Saints within seven with a final score of 72-65.
The Saints recorded 17 points off the bench. King put up 18-points, six rebounds, and six assists. Callahan put up 12 points and four assists. Horne had five points, six rebounds, and one assist. Thomas More also recorded 20 points in the paint and 11 forced turnovers.
Thomas More competes next on December 6 taking on Manchester. Tip-off will be at 7:00 PM.
