(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - Today (February 10, 2018) inside the Connor Convocation Center (CCC) we had another great match up between President Athletic Conference (PAC) opponents Waynesburg University and the conference leading Thomas More College. The Saints were able to pull out the win with the final score of 64-50, which improved their record to 19-4 overall and 15-1 in the conference increasing their win streak to 12 straight wins. With the win, the Saints clinched a share of the number one seed in the conference needing to win one of their last two games in the final week of the season to lock up the overall number one seed in the conference for the post season.

Coming into today's game the Saints only needed two more regular season wins to clinch the number one seed in the PAC and host the tournament for the first time since the 2009 season. Trailing most of the first half the Saint struggled to find the bottom of the net as they only scored 20 points which is one of the lowest halftime scores the Saints have had this season. At the start of the second half the Saints started to chip away at the lead and with 11:47 to go in the half the Saints took a two-point lead as junior guard Damion King made eleven straight points to put his team up. Once taking the lead, the Saints didn't look back as they were able to overcome a rough first half and pull out yet another win at home.

Today the Saints had seven players reach the scoring column and had three reach double digits. The Saints were led by junior guard Damion King (Winchester, Ky/ George Rogers Clark) who posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds and reached 1,000 career point at Thomas More with 13 minutes left to go in the game today. Along with King, senior center Simon Clifford (Louisville, Ky/ DuPont Manual) finished the game with 17 points and eight rebounds as he controlled down low tonight. Wrapping up the double-digit scorers was first year forward Garren Bertsch (Alexandria, Ky/ Campbell County) who finished with 10 points.

We talked with Damion King, who reached 1,000 career points at TMC today, "It's a good feeling to reach the milestone and I wouldn't have been able to get here without my teammates," King said, referring what it meant to reach such a mile stone. "Now, we have to finish the season strong with the conference tournament coming soon."

Waynesburg University was led by Matt Popeck and Nate Gearhart who both put up 11 points. Senior guard Jon Knab scored eight points tonight and also reached the 1,000-point mark tonight.

The Saints will be back in action Wednesday, February 14, 2018 as they travel to Latrobe, Pa. to take on St. Vincent College. This will be the first time the Saints have been back to Latrobe, Pa. since winning the 2016-2017 PAC Championship. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
