(RICHMOND, Ind.) – The Thomas More College men's golf team shot a two-day total of 616 (310-306) to win the 2017 Earlham College Spring Invitational today (Saturday, April 15, 2017) at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond, Indiana.
The Saints' senior Jimmy Kelley (California, Ky./Bishop Brossart) won individual medalist honors as he carded a 146 (74-72). Junior Carter Hibbard (Florence, Ky./Boone County) finished third with a 153 (71-82). First-year Kyle Alexander (Taylorsville, Ky./Spencer County) finished tied for 14th with a 161 (84-77), sophomore Matt Striegel (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) finished tied for 14th with a 161 (81-80) and first-year Zack Baynum (California, Ky./Campbell County) finished 17th with a 163 (86-77).
Senior Darron Hampton (Maysville, Ky./Mason County) competed as an individual and finished 13th with a 160 (78-82).
Thomas More is idle until April 28 and 29 when it competes at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship at Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. The Saints have an eight-shot lead heading into the final 36 holes of the championship at Cedarbrook.
