Hibbard and Striegel Named GCAA All-America Scholars

(NORMAN, Okla.) — Thomas More's Carter Hibbard (Florence, Ky./Boone County) and Matt Striegel (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) have been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.20. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Hibbard capped his career as a three-time All-Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) selection and four-time PAC Academic Honor Roll selection.  This past season he had a 77.36 stroke average and finished tied for first at the PAC Fall Championship.

Striegel, a rising senior, is a two-time All-PAC second team selection.  He also finished tied for first at the PAC Fall Championship this past season and had a 77.94 stroke average.

The Saints open the 2018-19 season Sept. 8 and 9, 2018 when they compete at the Cameo Pizza Battle at the Brook hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Plumbrook Country Club in Sandusky, Ohio.
