Men's Soccer Takes Down Capital, 4-1

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College men's soccer team took down Capital today in a physical match-up, 4-1. The Saints move to 5-3-1 on the season with the win and the Crusaders fall to 5-4 on the season.

The Saints went up earl in the match with a goal by Sam Lewis in the first minute. Capital tied it up from a penalty committed resulting in a penalty shot for Daniel Bundschuh in the 14th minute. Thomas More countered with two more goals before the 30th minute by Bryce Day and Suli Kayed from an assist by Jake Overbee. The Saints went into the half in the lead 3-1.

The second had less action, but Thomas More still scored towards the end of the match. DJ Sanders scored the go ahead goal just before time was called in the 85th minute giving the Saints the lead 4-1.

Andrew Mathews played all 90 minutes recording two saves and only one goal allowed. The Saints had the total shot advantage, 9-6. Jake Overbee, DJ Sanders, and Pat Louis led the team with 4 shots each.

The Saints are back in action Sept. 27 at Denison. The match is set to start at 4:30 PM.
