Thomas More Names Adam Jones Head Men's Soccer Coach

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Thomas More College President David A. Armstrong J.D. and Athletic Director Terry Connor have named Adam Jones the new head men's soccer coach at Thomas More.

Jones comes to Thomas More after serving as the head men's soccer coach at Anderson High School since 2015. In his first season with Anderson, Jones led the team to a 11-4-2 overall finish and 6-1 finish in the conference. Jones was also named the 2015 ECC Co-Coach of the year and the Division 1 Public High School Coach of the Year in Southwest Ohio. In 2016, Anderson was ECC and District Champions, as well as in 2017, when the team was a Regional Finalist. Jones has led the Redskins to a 47-9-5 overall record and a 19-1-1 conference record during his time at Anderson. The past three seasons at Anderson, the program has had more wins that any Division I program in the city, it was nationally ranked in the Top-25 of all high school programs in the U.S., it has been Top-10 in the state for two straight years, and it has won two conference championships, two district championships, and a regional final appearance. Jones inherited the program that was 9-35-7 the three prior years and he transformed the Redskins into one of the most successful programs in the state of Ohio and the winningest Division I Cincinnati program in the past three years, due to the offseason program, the culture of the program, and the way he teaches the game.

"We are very excited that Adam is joining the Thomas More community as our new men's soccer coach," stated Connor. "His success at the Division I high school level will help take an already successful program to the next level in the future."

This is a program that historically has had a tradition of excellence and a commitment to winning," Jones stated. "I would like to thank President Armstrong and Athletic Director Terry Connor for the opportunity to become head coach. I look forward to building on our foundation of success, getting to work right away with my guys, and fostering a culture that revolves around hard work, commitment, competition, and brotherhood. 

Jones also practices as the Cincinnati United Premier head coach and trainer for the past two years. He serves as the head coach for the 00 Gold team, assistant coach for the 03 gold team, and the 04-06 DA trainer. There, he works with the top youth players and coaches in the area in the most professional environment available. All three teams are ranked as a Top-50 teams in the nation for their age group.

Prior to being named head coach at Anderson, Jones served as the assistant coach at Mason High School for the boys' varsity team from 2012-2015. There, he helped lead the team to an overall 55-5-5 record and a 2013 Division I State Championship. Jones was named ECC Coach of the Year in 2015, 2016, and 2017, Southwest Division I Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2016, and Cincinnati Enquirer Division I Coach of the Year in 2016.

Jones is currently a 9th and 12th grade English teacher at Anderson High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Miami (Ohio) University in 2012, majoring in Integrated English Language Arts Education. He currently holds a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and NSCAA High School Diploma, and He holds a certificate in NFHS Concussions, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, and Pupil Activity Supervisory Permit, and holds his USSF E License.
