Thomas More Falls to Emory & Henry at NCAA Regional

(MOUNT BERRY, Ga.) – The Thomas More College softball team fell, 6-3, to Emory & Henry College today (Saturday, May 13, 2017) in an elimination game of the NCAA Division III Championship's Mount Berry, Georgia regional hosted by Berry College at Kay Williams Field.

With the loss, the Saints end the season at 35-10 and with the win the Wasps improve to 35-14.

Thomas More took an early 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the first and then Emory & Henry scored one in the first, two in the second, one in the third and two in the sixth to take a 6-2 lead.  The Saints plated a run in the seventh, but it wasn't enough as Emory & Henry won the game 6-3.

At the plate, sophomore pitcher Alix DeDreu (Rising Sun, Ind./Rising Sun) was one-for-three with a run scored and run batted-in, first-year first baseman Andrea Gahan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) was one-for-three with a RBI and junior shortstop Dallis Knotts (Florence, Ky./Boone County) was one-for-three with a RBI.

DeDreu suffered the loss on the mound as she pitched six innings giving up six runs (all earned) on 11 hits and striking out two.
