Softball Receives Seven PAC Honors

(GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)) – The Presidents' Athletic Conference released the PAC All-Conference team and award winners today, May 9. The Thomas More College softball team had five players named to the All-Conference first team, one named to the All-Conference second team, and one named the PAC Sportsmanship team. Andrea Gahan, Mary Beth Odom, Laura Finke, Amanda Lloyd, and Alix DeDreu were all named to first team. Dallis Knotts was named to second team and Danielle Piening was named to the sportsmanship team.

Gahan (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills), a sophomore first baseman, has played in 45 games this season making 153 appearances at the plate for a .462 batting average. She has recorded 42 runs off 67 hits, which is the second most hits in a season record for Thomas More. She has also recorded 14 doubles, two triples, and 16 home runs, which is the most home runs in a single season for Thomas More. Gahan is currently second in most RBI's in a season, sitting at 53. She has stolen 11 bases and has a .985 fielding percentage with 313 putouts.

Odom (Taylor Mill, Ky. / Dixie Heights), a junior third baseman, is currently sitting in second for most homeruns in a career with 23, 11 of which have come this season. She has played in 45 games making 142 plate appearances recording 33 hits for 28 runs. Out of those 33 hits, she has hit eight doubles and one triple. Odom currently has a .950 fielding percentage with 52 putouts.

Finke (Fort Wright, Ky. / Notre Dame Academy), a senior center fielder, has played in 45 games, making 169 plate appearances. She has recorded 61 hits and tied the all-time most hits in a career at 204 in her latest game against Westminster in the PAC Championship game. Out of those 61 hits, Finke has recorded 43 runs, seven doubles, and two triples. Finke has recorded 25 stolen bases and 18 RBI's so far this season. She currently has a .985 fielding percentage with 57 putouts.

Lloyd (Alexandria, Ky. / Bishop Brossart), a sophomore outfielder, has played in 39 games making 104 plate appearances. She has recorded 38 hits for 17 runs, five doubles, three home runs, along with five stolen bases. Lloyd currently has a .852 fielding percentage for 22 putouts.

DeDreu (Rising Sun, Ind. / Rising Sun), a junior pitcher, is currently tied for second in most career wins at 45. She passed her old record of most wins in a single season of 19 with 22 so far this year and is tied for second in most strikeouts in a single season with 163. DeDreu has played in 45 games this season making 160 plate appearances. She has recorded 53 hits for 34 runs, along with 11 doubles, one triple, and one home run. DeDreu has recorded 40 RBI's this season along with three stolen bases. She has a .931 fielding percentage for 40 putouts.

Knotts (Florence, Ky. / Boone County), a senior shortstop, has played in 40 games this season making 124 appearances at the plate. She has recorded 37 hits for 18 runs, nine doubles, one triple, and two home runs. Knotts has recorded 24 RBI's this season along with 11 sacrifice hits and two sacrifice flies. She currently has a .880 fielding percentage for 35 putouts.

Piening (Cincinnati, Ohio / McNicholas), a senior outfielder, has played in 42 games making three appearances at the plate recording one hit and six runs. She has a .960 fielding percentage for 23 putouts.

The 31-14 Thomas More softball team travels to Bloomington, IL this weekend to take on Illinois Wesleyan University in the regional round of the NCAA Championship Tournament. The Saints will play at 2:30 CST on Friday. Follow live stats and watch the game video here.
