(GAMBIER, Ohio) – The seventh-ranked Thomas More College women's soccer team traveled to Kenyon College in middle of Ohio on Friday evening on just one day rest. After initial resistance the Saints rolled to a 3-0 victory over the Ladies improving their record to 5-0-1 on the season.

The game was a back and forth affair for the first twenty minutes as the teams searched for weaknesses. The Saints had several half chances in the first 25 minutes. In the 26th minute Olivia Nienaber (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) tipped a ball to Abby Stadtmiller (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) who returned the favor playing Liv in behind for the opening goal as the Brossart connection continues. There were several dangerous free kicks by TMC during the remainder of the second half that went wanting as the half time score was 1-0 Saints.

In the second half Laura Felix (Burlington, Ky./St. Henry) hit a free kick in the 8th minute that almost extended the lead, but was just high. In the 64th minute Ali Whalen (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) threw the ball in to Josie Perrino (Tracey, Calif./St. Mary's) who received the ball and played it back to Whalen who split two defenders with a return pass to Josie as the defenders scrambled. Josie cut to her right foot and put the ball upper 90 far post to double the TMC lead.

The Saints controlled much of the second half with Shaye Isaacs (Nicholasville, Ky./West Jessamine) causing significant trouble off the dribble up top. In the 86th minute Erika LaRosa (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) played a beautifully weighted pass through the defense to Nienaber who touched the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper to put the game away with a final score line of 3-0. Thomas More outshot Kenyon 17-2 and had a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.

"We had a tough game today emotionally and with the short turnaround from Wednesday's game," said Jeff Cummings, the TMC head coach. "I am proud of the way we came together and of how we played. The performance is a good building block as we look to improve throughout the season."

The Saints return home Tuesday the 20th as they host Transylvania at 5pm. LIVE video and stats are available with links found on TMCSaints.com.
