(NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.) – The fourth-ranked Thomas More College women's soccer team remained unbeaten Saturday as they shutout Westminster College, 3-0, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. With the win, the Saints improve to 14-0-1 overall and 4-0 in the PAC and the Titans fall to 7-6-2 and 3-2 in the PAC.

"We survived another week," said TMC head coach Jeff Cummings. "It is always nice to come away with a result after a long travel weekend."

The Saints started quickly in a chilly fall game as Erika LaRosa (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) headed the ball just over the crossbar in the 3rd minute. In the 10th minute Lauren Rose (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) took a free kick that was headed first time across goal by LaRosa. Kaitlyn Armentrout (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) got on the end of the header to touch the ball past the goal keeper for a 1-0 lead. LaRosa continued her impact on the game with a dangerous free kick in the 17th just over the bar.

In the 20th minute Rose doubled the Saints lead when she was first to a rebounding ball in the six yard box off a corner kick scrum. Corner kicks continued to be a source of chances. In the 36th minute Samantha Goodwin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) served in a ball headed by Jordan Wuest (Westchester, Ohio/Lakota West). In the 37th minute Taylor Robinson (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) was on the end of another excellent Goodwin corner with the same result.

The second half was a more desultory affair. In the back Emily Cummings (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) was a bionic wall stymieing the Titans on each surge forward. In the 88th minute Josie Perrino (Tracey, Calif./St. Mary's) worked free on the right side and placed a ball across the middle that was finished by Jordan Wuest for her first collegiate goal and a 3-0 final score for the Saints.

The Saints return home on Thursday the 20th of October. They will be facing PAC opponent Grove City College at 4:30pm. If you aren't able to make it out to the match live video and stats are available with links found on on the women's soccer Schedule page.
