Women's Track & Field Finishes Sixth at Engineer Invitational

(TERRE HAUTE, Ind.) – The Thomas More College women's track & field team finished sixth today (Saturday, January 28, 2017) at the Engineer Invitational hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology inside the Sports & Recreation Center in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The Saints tallied 32 points to finish sixth at the nine-team meet.  Thomas More had eight Top-10 finishes.

Junior Christina Cook (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) won the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.49-seconds, was fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.39-seconds and was fifth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.07-seconds.

Senior Megan Barton (Florence, Ky./Villa Madonna) had two Top-10 finishes as she won the triple jump with a mark of 33-06.00 and sixth in the long jump with a jump of 14-10-.50.  Junior Dakota Sicurella (Bethel, Ohio/Bethel-Tate) was ninth in the long jump with a jump of 13-11.50 and ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 30-00.75.

First-year Natalie Kleier (Covington, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) was fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:58.73.

Thomas More returns to action on February 11 when it competes at the Trojan Invitational hosted by Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.
