Women's Track Places Ninth; Cook Makes Meet Record

(HANOVER, Ind.) – The Thomas More College women's track and field team took ninth place at the Hanover Invitational today. The Saints had seven top-eight performances, six of which were on the track and one on the field.

Christina Cook took first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.06, creating a new meet record which was previously set by Cook in 2015. In the 800-meter run, Kelsey Etherton placed seventh with a time of 2:30.57. In the 100-meter hurdles, Dakota Sicurella placed sixth with a time of 18.10. Natalie Kleier placed seventh in the 3,000-meter dash with a time of 13:06.32. The Thomas More relay team, consisting of Jennifer Swecker, Cook, Etherton, and Mackenzie Hester, placed fourth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 50.98. In the 4x400-meter relay, Etherton, Hester, Cook, and Maggie Harris took third with a time of 4:15.28.

Over on the field, Sicurella took fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 9.50-meters.

The Saints compete next on April 7 at the DePauw Invitational.
