Saints Sweep Two PAC Matches on Monday

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College volleyball defeated both Thiel College and Saint Vincent College, 3-0, tonight (Monday, October 17, 2016) in a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matches at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the two wins the Saints improve to 16-8 overall and 12-1 in the PAC.

The Saints defeated Thiel in the first match of the night by the scores of 25-21, 25-12 and 25-12.  First-year setter Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone County) paced the offense with 29 assists.  First-year outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) led the offensive attack with 11 kills, while senior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) added seven kills.

Junior defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the defense with 11 digs, while first-year outside hitter Sara Crooker (Williamsburg, Ohio/McNicholas) added 10.

In the second match of the night Thomas More defeated Saint Vincent 25-9, 25-13 and 25-16.  Meyer led the attack with nine kills and Krumpelman added seven kills.  Borders paced the offense with 24 assists, while Meyer led the team in service aces with four.

Crooker led the team in digs with nine, while Bronner added eight.  Borders and sophomore defensive specialist Leanne Dant (Louisville, Ky./Bethlehem) each finished with seven digs.

Thomas More returns to action on Friday (October 21) when it travels to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to play Waynesburg University at 7 p.m.
