Thomas More Sweeps Chatham, 3-0, on Sunday

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Chatham University, 3-0, today (Sunday, October 23, 2016) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The Saints won by the scores of 25-21, 25-12 and 25-12.

With the win, the Saints improve to 18-9 overall and 14-2 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Cougars fall to 8-19 overall and 4-10 in the PAC.

First-year setter Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone County) paced Thomas More's offense with 20 assists.  Senior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) and senior middle hitter Alexis Bierbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) led the team's attack with seven kills each, while senior outside hitter Megan Klever (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) added six kills.

Junior defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the Saints' defense with 19 digs, while Meyer finished with 13.  Bierbaum led Thomas More's block effort with two.

Thomas More returns to the court on Thursday (October 27) when it hosts Geneva College at 6 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
