Lambert Named PAC Freshman of the Year, Six Saints Named All-PAC.

(GREENVILLE, Pa.) - Thomas More College first-year outside hitter Carlee Lambert (Cincinnati, Ohio / McAuley) was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Freshman of the Year and six Saints were named All-PAC today (Tuesday, November 7, 2017) by the Conference's head coaches

Junior setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky. / Beechwood), senior defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio / Mount Notre Dame), sophomore middle hitter Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio / Clermont Northeastern), and sophomore outside hitter/middle back Alli Borders (Florence, Ky. / Boone County) took four of the ten spots on the All-PAC First Team. Fessler led the team in assists with 930 (9.49 per set), also recording 90 kills (.278 pct.), 36 service aces (.37pct), 270 digs (2.76 per set), and 19 blocks. Bronner led the team in digs, recording 496 (5.11 per set). She also led the team in service aces with 44 (.45 pct), along with recording seven kills, and 53 assists (.55 per set). Mummert led the team in kills with 330 (3.03 kills per set), led the team in blocks with 94 (.86 per set), along with having the second most service aces with 41 (.38 per set). She also recorded 11 assists (.10 per set), and 83 digs (.73 per set). Borders had the second most assists on the team with 118 (1.10 per set), along with the second most blocks with 53 (.50 per set). She also recorded 210 kills (1.96 per set), 29 service aces (.27 per set), 188 digs (1.79 per set).

Sophomore outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky. / Holy Cross) and first-year outside hitter Lambert were named second team All-PAC.  Krumpelman hit a .192 on the season recording the second highest 283 kills, 20 assists (.19 per set), 26 service aces (.25 per set), 250 digs (2.40 per set), and 29 blocks (.28 per set).  Lambert has appeared in 32 matches (99 sets) this season for league champion Thomas More (29-5, 18-0 PAC). She's hitting .235 and has totaled 276 kills, which rank ninth in the PAC. Her .279 kills per set average currently sits eighth in the league. Lambert has also chipped in defensively with 59 digs and 30 blocks.

Junior defensive specialist Kasey Niesen (Cincinnati, Ohio / Roger Bacon) was named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team. Niesen played in three sets this season. She helped her team go 29-5 overall and 18-0 in the PAC.

Thomas More finished the 2017 season in first place in the PAC, advancing to the first round of the NCAA Tournament to take on Christopher Newport University on Thursday, November 09, 2017.
